The hotel has some lovely features, but I'm not sure I'd call it a 5-star hotel. (Granted, I've stayed in some amazing 5-star hotels in Italy.) Perhaps because my booking rate was less than full rate, the first room they gave me was very small, no balcony, and a window that opened on to a metal vent. When asked, they moved me to a room with a balcony. This room, however, had the front door lead directly into the bathroom -- which I found to be rather strange. It was, however, a lovely bathroom. The bedroom was again quite small and the furniture spacing was cramped. The balcony made up for some of that. If you're driving there, be sure to get exact directions since that part of Alicante is all one-way streets. It took us 30 minutes AFTER we spotted the hotel to find a way to get to their garage opening. The staff was very polite and helpful -- with the exception of the breakfast buffet staff. Although the food was self-serve, the coffee and tea were not. They came once to offer coffee and tea, but evidently that was the only "service" offered -- other than to make sure you'd paid for the breakfast. It was an impressive buffet with good food. However, I would've appreciated one more cup of coffee.
