Welcome on board the Amstel Botel Hotel - a unique 3-star experience in every way! Situated now across the Het IJ, only 10 minutes from central Station by the free hotel ferry shuttle, the Amstel is a modern, superior floating hotel with 175 comfortable guestrooms, all of which are equipped with satellite TV, radio, safe, pay TV and en suite shower/WC facilities as standard. The new hotel's location is the former NDSM-shipyard. This colourful and vital dockside area now houses workshops and artists' studios, hip cafes and restaurants, exhibitions and performances. Among others the media wharf houses MTV, Robodock, and the IJ-festival. The free ferry connection (and shuttle bus) makes this charming and intriguing city easy to explore and discover. Once in Central Station, many of Amsterdam's sights and attractions can be easily reached on foot; Dam Square, Anne Frank's House, the Flower Market, as well as the famous (or infamous!) Red Light District. Once the day's sightseeing draws to an end, guests are invited to relax in the hotel bar, or enjoy a game or two of pool over a nice cold glass of beer - naturally!

Basic, spotlessly clean, (small rooms, with teeny ensuite shower rooms, but it is a boat after all!) pleasant helpful staff, friendly atmosphere, great wee bar and restaurant & great location with easy access to the tourist attractions, (back of Centraal Station pier 14 for free botel ferry) If your looking for 5 star, this is the wrong place, but if your looking for value for money short break without worrying about cleanliness standards then this is where to go!! Only thing I would like to have different would be tea making facilities in the rooms! All in all, we loved the whole ambiance of the Botel & cant wait to go back... highly recommend!

Not a bad place, but not great either. Amstel Botel had a decent location. The complimentary breakfast was slightly above average. The beds were fairly comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, exceeding my expectations to some degree. However, the price (considering how worn out our room was, and how tiny the bathroom was), make it difficult to percieve the value at this property. Also of note, the nearby construction can make sleeping past 8am difficult. There are better places to stay in Amsterdam, for less money. While I don't regret having stayed at the Botel, I would have difficulty recommending it to a friend.

It was a great price if you didnt plan on being in your room most of the stay. The rooms and bathroom were tiny but it was sufficient to sleep in for the night. I would recommend it due to the great location, 2 minutes walk from the train station. It was great to explore central amsterdam and be so close to your hotel at the same time. I definitely would stay again.
