Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam

What a great hotel! A fabulous art nouveau building, for a start. Secondly, it is walking distance to the train station, which makes the link to Schipol really easy. The hotel is still learning its way a bit, so you get the odd moment - but the staff are so fantastic, and really enthusiastic. Our room was lovely - not huge, but spacious enough for a massive bed, an armchair and desk, and a wonderful bathroom with shower, bath and double sinks. The mini bar is included in the price - and is full of well known brands as well. All in all a lovely hotel, and one that really made our stay special.

A very interesting old shipping factory with many of it's features restored. Less than ten minutes on foot to central station, ideally located for quick access to airport. Also close to main sights, such as red light district, which we passed through on most days and it always felt safe despite it's reputation for stag do's!
Our room was a good size with a king size bed and a view of the canal. The free mini-bar is a nice touch and was re-stocked every day.
The bar served a good selection of cocktails and the meal served in the restaurant was of a very high standard.
Enjoyed making use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, great facilities and hardly anybody using them.
We would have scored the hotel 5, but for the decor, which was traditional and not to our taste, as we prefer a modern style.

This hotel is located minutes from Amsterdam Central Station and is in an impressive building. The original room I was allocated was a deluxe room which was next to the main road which turned out to be very noisy. However I did request a city view room. the next day I requested to move which the hotel did without problem and I was moved to a lovely room overlooking the canal. The staff were excellant and attended to our evry need.

I would highly recomend this hotel location is great near all major attractions and is a fine five start hotel with excellant service and amenties. If going back to AMsterdam I would not hesiatte in booking here.
