the hotel is well placed 10min by tram, (stop a short walk away), or 30 min by foot from the centre of amsterdam .the
breakfast is v good american buffet style, annexe rooms are small but adquate,main building rooms are bigger(we have stayed in these before),the bar/restaurant and reception are helpfull and good and helped towards a very pleasant break ,nothing disappointed us, and thought it was good value for money

I would recommend the hotel it was clean and basic, the staff we really helpful and friendly.
The food was of a decent standard

This hotal was great for me and my girlfriends first time. It is a 15 min tram ride to where it is all happenen but easily accessable. Good decor and very friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable.

i would recommend Hem Hotel, but with reservations. biggest issue is the neighborhood it is located in...we were approached for money every night we returned to the hotel by people who i guessed were addicts. i live in Chicago, so I am used to this, but still found myself glancing over my shoulder periodically.

the hotel itself was fine, but a bare-bones hotel that was more like a 4-star youth hostel. staff were very nice, and the complimentary breakfast was very good.

friendly staff
clean rooms (could do with a referb )
adequate breakfest
bar service slow and overpriced
a bit out of the city center but good tram \ night-bus links into town
the best thing was no roudy teenagers
