The hotel was nice. The room was good size, bath room with tub, clean. Aircondition a bit noisy.
Breakfast tasty with a lot to choose from.
Friendly staff.
Located in a area without charm, but only appox 15 min walk to the VU university and also close to RAI congress venue.
Only a couple of minutes to walk from last stop of tram (4 goes often, to center). Also metro .
10 min by train to Schipol (RAI station)
In total - nice hotel, good breakfast, easy access to conference area. If you are in Amsterdam to see the city, you might rather stay somewere closer to center. Transportation very easy from this hotel.
Good value for money.

I got a spacious room with my own jacuzzi but the price was quite high.

The breakfast was of good standard - but not more than that.

The location close to the Metro/Train-station RAI is very convenient (just 2 minutes walk)..

This is a good hotel. It's a little further out than advertised, but the 4 goes directly there from Amsterdam Centraal, just take the tram to the end of the line. It's quiet, and it's very clean. The breakfast buffet is very generous and the staff are very helpful, and speak a broad range of languages.

Two complaints: the charge for the Internet and television services was too high. I don't understand how they can charge almost €30 per day for that. Also, the bar was expensive: don't plan on a quiet drink there

A good hotel overall.

I would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Amsterdam to others, and I plan to stay there again on my next visit. Staff were friendly and helpful, accommodations were clean and relatively spacious. No tiny, winding staircases, no communal bathrooms at the end of the hall - a fine hotel.

Forget any worries about the Holiday Inn being too far from "the action" in the city. 15 minutes on the #4 tram gets you anywhere you want to be. And at the end of a long night it's incredibly convenient to find the #4 again, and relax until you hear "Station RAI."

The breakfast was very good, although I think it is probably better suited to business travelers than vacationers. There were several mornings where I was simply not getting out of the very comfortable bed early enough to take advantage of the prepaid meal (in other words, before 10:30a).
