This is a lovely, family run hotel with a great location in one of the nicest parts of Amsterdam, a short walk from all the major sightseeing attractions that this city has to offer. 161007JG This hotel has a wonderful location on a quiet, residential street, a few minutes walk from the Museumplein and the centre of Amsterdam. In the immediate surroundings there are lovely cafes and restaurants and boutiques which the wealthy Amsterdammers frequent. This is an attractive, traditional Amsterdam building in a traditional neighborhood. The lobby is small and incorporates a small bar and seating area which leads to the breakfast room. There is also internet access available in the lobby for a charge. The bedrooms are medium in size and fairly basic but in good condition, and the majority of bedrooms are with shower only, although the bedrooms located on the lower ground floor all have bathrooms and tend to be slightly larger than the other rooms. The bedrooms on this floor may be reached by a steep staircase, as the lift does not go to this floor.

The hotel is expensive given its room size and standard of services. I got there morning at 7am but could not check in as I was told no room available. Despite jet lag I have to wander outside until 12pm to check in. And checked in a small tiny room with a tiny single bed. And it is cold without heater. So I checked out immediate the next day to Movenpick hotel which is much more comfortable. I still prefer modern hotel at least the basic equipment such as shower etc needs to be in function.

Some of the rooms were being renovated when we stayed, so we got the ground floor room, which was clean etc, but not inspiring to be in.Breakfast was good, staff friendly.Hotel location was very good for the museums and concert hall, and in a nice suburb, though easily walkable to the old centre.

Excellent hotel. Very convenient for trams and busses. A lot of places within walking distance. Very quiet. 4 floors no problem as lift no bother.
