Reviews Of Apollo Hotel, Birmingham,

Review by: SandA, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Decent accommodation for the price and being so close to the city centre (short bus journey or walk - if the weathers on your side!).

Excellent breakfast. A lot of places either don't include breakfast in the price, provide continental or basic fry up. This place does the works!

So if you're willing to sacrifice some little luxuries for a great brekkie to sort out the hangover, then this is the place.

I've stayed in considerably worse accommodation which charged a higher price!

the rooms were dated and on the whole looked run down. I would not be reccomending this to anyone in the near future

i would not reccomend this to anyone else. \the rooms were far too small and the furniture was dated and aged and looked run down on the whole. The reception area was nice which led you to believe the standard would continue throughout which was not the case

You get what you pay for, room didnt feel comfortable but as it was just one night it wasnt an issue. Small tv, separate twin beds. Bathroom was average.

I have stayed in this hotel on numberous occasions and would recommend for overnight/short stay. It is basic but clean and the staff are helpful and friendly.
Breakfast provided is very good.

Wouldn't really recomend this hotel. It is only for those wanting very, very basic. I wouldn't call this a hotel. It was more like small flats on a council estate. The decor was very basic and we hadto go out of reception to then catch a dirty, old fashioned lift, that looked like something from the 80's - addind to the block of flats experience. The breakfast again was basic. They didnt have hot chocolate which i thought would have been a staple in a hotel. The hotel room was dated and the supposid double beds seemed smaller than any double I had stayed in before. So my expectaitions were not met and I wouldn't recommend it if your looking for a happy stay at a hotel.

why oh why is the smoking area right next door to the restaurant but non smokers are confined to a 'booth'?

This was the only hotel we have ever stayed in where we have been asked to move from the table at breakfast as they needed the space!!
