Good central location, decent breakfast. Rooms poor - wallpaper hanging off Walls, damp patches, bathrooms 3rd rate.

I would recommend it to others - mainly for helpful staff, price, location and breakfast. The breaksfast was very good. The room was a bit shabby. Plaster 'bubbled' and crumbly on the wall by my bed. Bathroom OK. Nothing special. Walls looked like they'd only got undercoat on. Looked a bit unfinished and lots of marks on the walls. Good value for money though if booked on Skoosh. Wouldn't have liked to have paid a lot for it. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Service with a smile!

Great location but outdated furnishings

Great central location. Must have been impressive in the past. No frigde in the room. Old feel for a 4*.

Great location; loved the breakfast!

Nice big room with a view; very competitive price for central Birmingham; right next to the Christmas market. Breakfast kept me going all day. Easy taxi ride to New Street Station. Rooms may not sparkle but they're certainly clean and comfortable.

I read a number of reviews about The Copthorne before booking so I knew what to expect. This hotel has its faults but many others do too. Some areas of the hotel are tired and need refurbishing. Some corridor carpet should be replaced and the previously reported poor TV reception remains. This was not mentioned until I complained about it to reception. They could do nothing but did then put up a sign by the lift explaining it was being upgraded soon. Come on Copthorne, be honest with your customers, if you tell me there is poor reception and you are working on it, that is OK, if you say nothing and leave me in a position where I must complain, that is not acceptable. Overall, the staff are excellent, friendly and efficient. The restauraunt is very good and breakfast is outstanding, catering for all tastes. I would stay again.
