*Disappointing stay for a 4 hotel**

On arrival we were shown a double room, even though a twin had been booked. We were moved to another room quite quickly. The restaurant was very disappointing; situated in the foyer area, it was very cold and dark. Our breakfast meal was cold. We asked to be moved to another table away from quite a draught, but were told not possible as they were fully booked. The meal I ordered had a very small piece of fish - someone on the next table had a piece three times the size! They obviously need to control portion sizes. No-one came to ask about our meal during service - as an ex-hotel worker I thought that this was very bad practice. We deducted the 12.5% service charge from the bill. We ordered newspapers but none arrived. Taxis were not able to get to the hotel easily due to a road race.

High class Regency

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful — This is a wonderful hotel. Understated luxury. Definitely 5*. Excellent breakfast included in the unbelieveable deal from Skoosh too. I confess to having rung the hotel to ask if they would honour the voucher as I could not believe the price. Of course they did! ... Included Hyatt points too. They even said "wow how did you manage that rate?" Can't wait to book through Skoosh again.

Birmingham Hyatt was excellent

From the moment we arrived, to checking out the service was excellent. The check in receptionist took time to find us a high floor quiet room, and explained why there was so much security around (as they had VIPs staying). We used room service twice, and it arrived promptly, the food still hot, with all condiments etc present and correct. Probably the fastest in room service we have ever experienced. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
