Stayed at the hotel a few times and found it fine with helpful staff. On one occasion I was woken at 6.30am by the bottle bins being emptied. Since then I have made a point of asking if the room is near any of the bins? Last time I stayed I asked and was assured that the room was not near the bins. At 6.50am I was woken by the refuse truck emptying the refuse bins near my room. Looking out the window later I could see the bin store which I had not seen the night before in the dark. I cannot understand the thinking behind refuse collection under guests windows at that time of the morning.

Room was fine - though access was difficult along dismal, very long and poorly-maintained corridors, and up and down stairs. This is why I would not recommend it highly. Otherwise it was good vfm.

Reception was efficient. Parking good. Breakfast good.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good size room and bathroom. Room can be cleaner. Good breakfast! The hotel is conveniently centrally located and accessible by car and public transport. It clearly has seen better days but its patina is a part of the charm. It is inexpensive and a very good value for the money. I would stay there again

Carpet at the top of the stairs was a bit tatty and let the hotel down

Good location for town/broad street with free parking. Skoosh deal prices at £50.00 inc of breakfast made up for fact that inside the hotel and room was fairly tired. (smelt a bit like a nursing home)

Our room had a broken/missing plane of glass on the outside, but there was secondary double glazing so at least it wasn't open to the elements.

In summary, at no more than £50.00 ok, any more than this worth considering your your travel-lodge/travel inns.

Thepublic areas were fine but the. Stairs and rooms were very tatty it badly needs on on refurbishment. To get drink from bar you had to go find someone to serve you. I didnt eat but the food aroma was good. The place was clean but tired. You only get what you pay for.

The hotel has lots of character, it is in new parts the old and a newer attached wing although this makes it a bit of a treck to the bedrooms. However, when we got to the room it was a good size and had lots of cupboard and hanging space.
We paid extra for an evening meal 3 courses for £16.95 which was very good value and the resturant staff were very attentive. Breakfast (included) was very nice.
The hotel is in a good location for Broad Street and Symphony Hall, Brindley Place etc. It is well served by cheap WM buses which take you into the city via Broad Street, on a nice day it would be a reasonable walk but too far in the rain. We would stay there again.
