Good value but no friendly smile!

Reasonably priced at just under £80 per night for a double room. Bedroom - quite small and somewhat dated e.g.decor, 16inch TV! but adequate for a couple of nights. Bathroom - clean and functional. Breakfast served between 8 - 10, typical European, cereal, bread / rolls, cheese, cold meat, etc. Hotel very central so no problems walking everywhere. Also useful to note that garage parking is available at a cost of £7 per night (the parking immediately by the hotel is only short stay). Negatives - lack of customer friendliness of the hotel management!! There was no welcoming greeting / smile when we arrived, no friendly 'good morning', no polite enquiries as to how things were etc. Also had to ask for additional cutlery, cups etc at breakfast (why not leave some extra out somewhere?). If customer friendliness is not on your agenda, then go ahead and book this hotel.

Room is gorgeous, breakfast is marvelous, service is OK. we asked for a different kettle since ours was full of limescale but they never got back to us. location is not that bad. around 8 minutes walk to grand market. wonderful view from our room. outside can be a bit noisy and it was a bit hot when we were there so had to open the window. overall, good value for money.

Recommended. Quiet location next to a canal. 5 mins from square with bars and restaurants, 15 minutes from centre and 25 mins from station (walking). Frequent bus service nearby serving centre and station. Hotel and rooms clean. Ensuite with bath and shower over. Hair dryer and tea / coffee making in room along with mini bar and small safe. Good choice for breakfast (8 to 10) with 'self-service' egg boiler. Friendly family run, with nothing to fault. I am glad I read reviews before booking because the Bryghia deserves its high scores. Beware of mosquitos' due to canals (applies to all hotels), Bryghia provides free repellent tabs. Booking through Skoosh worked well and we were expected on arrival. Note bars / cafes and museums tend to close on a Monday.

i have already recommended the bryghia to many of my fellow workers the thing that i liked most of all was,the staff could not have been more helpfull, nothing was to much of a problem. my one disappointment was that they did not do evening meals. yes it was very good value for money. my expectations of the hotel were more than met. a very quiet and clean hotel with very helpfull staff.

Great Stay at Hotel Bryghia

We were in Bruges for the first time, and fortunate enough to find this hotel on line. It is one of the best family-run hotels we have ever stayed at. It is an easy stroll to the town center, but still located on a quiet side street, ensuring a relaxing stay. The room was small but not cramped, and the breakfast was excellent in a wonderful dining room. The staff is unobtrusive and still helpful.
We give this hotel our highest recommendation.
