On surface hotel is charming and has very nice public areas and has really good location.

However the room we were allocated had a very unpleasant smell which probably came from the broken bathroom floor. This was not a couple of cracked tiles but a large area of loose and broken tiles with the floors boards below showing. No guest should be allocated a sub standard room like this.

The floor had pieces of grout and debris lying on it the day we moved in and these were still lying around on the day we moved out. The floor was not cleaned for us moving in and was not cleaned while we were there (Wed to Mon).

On moving in the soap containers were empty and grubby and we were left one empty toilet roll and one half full one. I changed the empty one for the half full one on our first morning and left the empty one on the window sill assuming it would be replaced. It was not and we had to go and request toilet roll on second morning. Cleaning seemed to consist of cleaners throwing bedclothing over the bed and little else. Room was also not made up(!) until around 1:30/2:00 in afternoon.

I tried to air room by leaving windows open when we went out but the cleaners kept closing them, it got to the stage where I was reluctant to go back to the hotel each day because of the smell.

Very disappointed as we chose this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Would not recommend or go back to this hotel.

i think its beautiful premises and the distance between the city center and the hotel is very appropriate.The price was also very affordable.I would recommend it to friends
