Louise Hotel

I would recommend it as a very good budget hotel. Very helpful receptionist greeted us on arrival. The room was lovely- spacious and clean. A fine big bathroom added to the comfort. There were complimentary soft drinks in the fridge which was very welcome. A teasmade would be too much to expect in this price range, I suppose. The breakfast was excellent. Cereals, juices, selection of breads, scrambled eggs and bacon, cold meat and cheeses. Plenty to set you up for a days walking and sightseeing. The hotel was very near a tram stop and a metro station. Also very near the posh shopping district of Avenue Louise. All in all a very pleasant place to stay.

I can definitely recommend. Location is acceptable - a walk to the center would be a bit longer but metro is quite near. Building is very nice and room was spacious and cozy at the same time. Booking online apparently saved us a lot of money, so for this price the value was much bigger than expected.

I stayed in room 5 and did not get the impression that this room had been 'entirely renovated' only last year. The decor and furniture were very tired looking. Given that the room was quite large I thought the bathroom was poorly laid our and the shower cubicle was tiny. Breakfast was your average continental fair but if you're after something else there's a well stocked Carrefour Express close to the nearest tram stop which is about 150m from the hotel. Given its location and price maybe my rating is a little harsh but I'm still left with my initial impression that my room at least did not live up to the expectations set by the hotel's own website.

Event though there were nice rooms, if you will book via internet probably you will stay... at the basement!
However it is a clean, quiet, mostly friendly and a good value for money given hotel. It is situated at a walking distance from the "most luxurious" area in Brussels!

For this area of the city and the price range, I would suggest considering other properties.
The staff are not service-oriented and came across as indifferent . The Front Desk person said little more than "passport, credit card". He did not greet us although we greeted him.
There were two people booked to a room with one bed. He refused to provide an extra sheet so that, due to a lower back injury, I could sleep on the floor. He explained there were no sheets available. A sheet was obtained from another clerk after much persuasion at 1:30 a.m.
The basic advertised breakfast was not well stocked. The cereal, bread, eggs, and juice were gone within minutes. Dirty dishes were left on the table so that there was little room for the guests seeking a basic breakfast.
