I would definitely recommend this hotel, it is beautifully located on the river just opposite the parliament buildings, in walking distance of the major sites in Budapest. It is on the Buda side of the city which is much nicer than the Pest side in my opinion. The hotel is clean, the rooms are large and well appointed, the breakfast is fantastic and the service excellent.

The hotel has well sized, comfortable rooms in a convenient location for the Buda castle district and the bridge to Pest.

The superior room thing is a con, their standard room is a superior room which is their worst room so dont think you will be getting something better. If you want a Danube view room it is 20 euros extra a night. This is worth it i think as the view is spectacular. Otherwise the rooms have a bit of a budget feel, modern looks but done on the cheap ie chip board wardrobe doors and tables ect. They dont really have a gym either, it consists of 3 cycling machines. Breakfast is pretty poor for a 4 STAR hotel. My advice is to go to one of the 5 star hotels, its only about £20 extra a night, which you would pay anyway if you want to see the river.

The hotel lobby was modern, clean and welcoming, especially since the temp outside was stifling, the air conditioning was a godsend...
The staff were helpful and keen to help with getting us checked in and settled...
The room was brilliant, large and airy with a view onto the square and although on a busy road and you could hear traffic in the morning, this wasn't too disturbing.
The service was brilliant, the room was cleaned everyday and the minibar topped up, which wasn't too overpriced either....
Overall, real value for money and in a prime location for the city (a short walk over the bridge to pest) and public transport (main station for underground and right opposite the tram stop)
We would definately stay here again if we returned to Budapest.

We booked a room that overlooked the Danube and we weren't disappointed with either the room or the fantastic views of the river, the Chain Bridge, and the parliament building on the Pest side of the river. The hotel staff were extremely helpful.
We had a continental breakfast each morning during our stay which had an extensive choice of hot and cold foods.
The Buda side is probably for those who prefer a quieter stay but we would thorougly recommend the Sailor Bar and the Belgian Brasserie within yards of the hotel. The food in the Sailor Bar is to die for, especially the veal and saddle of wild boar dishes.
Budapest is a lovely city for those who enjoy city breaks although maybe more expensive than we expected.

No I would not recommend it to others. And these are the reasons why... 1. The staff were very unfriendly and did not smile once during our 5 day stay. 2. When we were leaving the reception staff did not ask us how we found our stay at their hotel. 3. The rooms were over heated and there was no way of turning down the radiators, which meant that we felt constatnly dehydrated. 4. There were plenty of staff present each morning in the dining/breakfast area, but none were very helpful, and once again they all looked miserable. 5. Every morning during our breadkfast all the staff would start cleaning up around us...I don' t just mean setting tables discreetly for the lunchtime rush (even though the hotel dining area was always like a ghost town!)...... mean clearing our plates before we had finished the food on them and hoovering!

The thing that impressed me most was that the rooms were spacious and well laid out and warm. Overall I found the hotel to be clean, bright and the desk staff were quite helpful with any of my requests. I would certainly recommend this hotel. The only downside was the restaurant - I had one meal there and the food was quite disappointing. I did not have breakfast there so I cannot comment on that.

The hotel was nice, but lots of little items that added up to a experience that needed improvement.
The maid attempted to enter the room twice in the middle of the afternoon after we checked in and were resting from our overnight flight from the US. We never were sure why. We fixed that by religious use of the do not disturb sign.
There were no english language TV stations. The TV program guide said there was CNN, BBC, CNBC, but these channels did not work. When my friend was resting, it would have been good to have the news to watch.
One of the funny items was the weather report in the elevator was over a week old, so completely worthless.
Worst thing was the overpriced taxi's that the hotel reception ordered. They are nice (Mercedes) but about double the price of any other taxi we took.
Staff OK, location pretty good, great view from in front of the hotel (we had a courtyard view, which was just fine).
Overall, still was a great value for a good, clean hotel room.
Depending on the hotel price, would stay here again, but would be more likely to stay at a different hotel on the Pest side next time to see a bit of a different part of budapest.
