The sophisticated and historic hotel building was constructed in 1914 and forms a wonderful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It offers a total of 405 rooms and harks back to a time when grand hotels defined a country, when charm, radiance, and a classical ambience were the trademarks of a good establishment. The air-conditioned complex features a lobby area with a reception desk manned around the clock, a safe, a currency exchange facility, and lift access. Also on offer is a hairdresser, a bar, a restaurant, conference facilities, and room and laundry services. In addition, there is parking and a garage available for those arriving by car. This hotel participates 'Green Partnerhip Program'. This hotel is connected by a skywalk to the Telus Convention Centre, Calgary Tower, and the Glenbow Museum. The centre of Calgary is covered with skyscrapers, conveying the impression of a big city. Guests will also find excellent shopping facilities and hip restaurants in the city. The Palliser is one of the best properties in downtown Calgary!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful — The Fairmont Palliser is a true 4-star or better property completely from the minute you walk in the front door (beware ... steps only, so you might want to use the Bellman to help with heavy luggage!) to the first class Rimrock Restaurant, to the accommodations. The room had perfect temperature control, considering I was there when the temperatures varied outside from -20degF to +40degF in less than one week! One small tip to help you save a few additional dollars - join the Fairmont President's Club BEFORE you arrive, and you will receive FREE INTERNET ACCESS. When you are in Calgary, you must strongly consider the Palliser. It is a short walk to most major oil and gas business, as well as a seemingly endless supply of excellent restaurants. Of course, you have to try the Alberta Beef when you are in Calgary!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful — They put us next to the elevator and my friend could not sleep a wink. Thank goodness that I had brought earplugs so I did not have it as bad. They made up by offering to comp our breakfast and dinner (but only after I insisted).

The Fairmont Paliser was very classy

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful — It was very conveniently located for the centre of Calgary and only two hundred yards to the Rocky Mountaineer railway station. Elegantly decorated in the public areas and service inpeccable. Rooms relatively small and simple with small ensuite. Pool and jaccuzzi very nice.
