Best Western King Charles Inn

I loved the staff, the location and the rooms. Before arrival I called to switch room types; I received a prompt callback and exactly what I needed, even though my stay was during the very busy Spoleto Festival season. When we approached, we called for parking instructions and were directed to an adjacent overflow lot, saving time and hassle. The front desk attendants were cheerful and offered recommendations and directions. The rooms were stylish and clean, but fetaured older plumbing etc. (There was no fan in the bathroom, which I thought was a requirement.) The Managers reception from 4:30-5:30 offered free cheese & crackers and guests were able to BYOB from their rooms. I didn't have time to take a dip in the heated outdoor pool, but did rest my weary feet briefly between walks around the historic district. I would definitely return and recommend others to stay there.

Our first room was a bit of a dissapointment. Our confirmation page stated queen or king bed. They gave us a double bed. Unfortunately they were full! They said that their page from skoosh said double. To try and rectify the situation, they upgraded our room for the second night to a king with extra ammenities like a plasma T.V. We would definitely stay there again! The location was the best!!

This Hotel was near everything in the historic district. It is within a few blocks of everything. Just a short easy walk to many restaurants and shopping. The Staff was very friendly. Customer service at the front desk was excellent, especially Molly. Hotel was very nice, rooms were a good size. Hotel was very clean and for the most part modernized. Our room was near the elevator which turned out to be very loud with the doors slamming open and shut and the bells going off every time the elevator moved. I would recommend asking for a room away from the elevators. Other than that, the hotel was an excellent choice for a weekend stay. I will stay there again when I return to Charleston. Booking through Skoosh saved us big money. We paid less for this hotel than many other hotels which are outside of the Historic District.
