Reviews of Blake Hotel Charlotte

the room was ok, but nothing special. the beds and furniture had been redone in a contemporary style, but the bathroom was still the "old" stuff from days gone by. they are still working on remodeling but have a ways to go.

in general, the people were very helpful, but the facilities were only average, at best.

The hotel and the rooms were great but we'd expected a little something extra for the price. We'd just come from staying at a two-star Days Inn in Asheville that offered free internet in the lobby and free parking. The Blake parking was $15/day and no complimentary internet.
The area was good and the shuttle driver was fantastic. We were the only guests catching the shuttle to town that morning and he gave us a free tour around town before dropping us off!

We stayed at the Blake because our kids attended a 4 day swim meet at a pool across the street. For swim families the convenience of the location is fabulous. Overall we found the hotel to be good, the attitude of staff was friendly and helpful, the room was large, bright and clean. The bathroom was unrenovated but had been recaulked and was very clean. We liked the fact that we had two sinks and a large flat screen t.v.. The air cond. didn't work well at first but staff fixed it immediately after we asked. Our only complaint was the service in the restaurant so we ate in the bar/lounge or elsewhere. Would definitely stay there again if attending a swim meet at Mecklenburg Aquatic Center.

I would not recommend this hotel for others at this time. The hotel is under construction and does not have all of the facilities available. The staff, while pleasant, is in need of training in customer service. The rooms are not completely renovated. My expectations were not met.
