Crabwall Manor -
Tucked away in 10 acres of it's own beautiful lawned and landscaped gardens in the Cheshire countryside (neighbouring it's sister Best Western Mollington and Spa) the hotel is a little over 3 kms from Chester City Centre and the same distant in the opposite direction to the M56 with it's excellent links to North Wales and Liverpool.
A simply beautiful hotel, with an enviable reputation, fascinating history and a really great setting for exploring the wonders of Chester and its countryside. As an overnight guest you receive complimentary membership to The Spa from 12 noon on your day of arrival until 11. 00am on your day of departure and this should be an absolute must. The Spa (with it's wonderful new pool) is the perfect place to retreat, relax, pamper yourself and unwind.
William the Conqueror gave the Crabwall Manor estate to his nephew in 1077 which means the original parts date back to the Domesday period. However in 1600, it got its fine red brick frontage but, like all ancient buildings it's been modernised, which means some of the building (including the distinctive turrets) is 18th century.
All of the 48 en suite bedrooms are decorated to a very high standard - synonymous with the style of the hotel -each are individually designed and of a large size. Suites are available in the original Manor House but all come with tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press, television, radio, hair dryer, 24 hour room service and Gilchrist and Soames toiletries.
The Conservatory Restaurant is enchanting and elegant with stunning views of the hotel's immaculate grounds. The cuisine is exceptional and the wine cellar boasts 600 bins. Offering modern English food coupled with a relaxed atmosphere, this is simply one of the finest restaurants in Chester. The south-facing terrace area is the perfect place to sit and enjoy an alfresco drink or meal in the Summer.
The reception rooms have been beautifully furnished in a traditional style, with luxurious fabrics and furnishing. The check-in desk though is quite small but neatly hidden away from the Lounges.
4 kms to city centre, 40 kms to the airport (liverpool intl), 5 km to the nearest station (chester), 64 km to the nearest fair site (g mex manchester), 64 kms to the airport (manchester).

Crabhall Manor lived up to my expectations and the room was very spacious, with an enormous bathroom! The leisure facilities were fantastic and my 9 week son, enjoyed his first swimming experience in a very warm, calm and relaxing setting!

Crabwall Manor- A Fantastic Treat

Review by: Mr H , bradford, United Kingdom

Stayed: Apr 2009

A fantastic hotel, polite staff, excellent food, lovely surroundings, the real log fire as you enter the main hotel gives it a welcoming feeling. As a weekend treat i would recommend Crabwall Manor, close proximity to Chester and attractions such as Blue Planet give it extra appeal, the rooms in the hotel are spacious and well kept, the spa facilities ( pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym, aerobic Hall ) are all well maintained with modern equipment. My only gripe with my stay was an unfixable problem with the cable TV in the room and the steam room was not it use, other than that it was a thoroughly enjoyable and realxing place to stay.
