We found the location of the Hyatt Regency Chicago perfect, its right in between the Magnificent mile and North State Street, which are the best shopping locations. We found the hotel staff friendly but not overly helpful. We asked the Concierge if he knew of any spa's nearby, as we wanted to book some treatments after a day of shopping, but all he could tell us was about the beauty salon in the hotel, which was not really what we were looking for. We were also very disapponted with the bath/shower in our room. I, like most women love a long hot bubble bath, especially when i stay in a hotel, so i was gutted when we arrived at the hotel and into our bedroom, after a long delayed flight, to find that the bath had little to no water pressure and it was only luke warm, when we rang reception, somebody from maintenance arrived promptly, had a look and said that we would have to wait until tomorrow as it was too late to try and fix it, as they would have to make noise and bash the pipes. Fair enough it was late to start a racket, but it should have been working in the first place ! The next day when we rang again, maintence did something from the basement i think, and rang and told us that they have done the best they can, which was enabling us to have a hot shower after waiting each time for 15mins for the water to heat up and like wise for a bath, althought the bath too alot longer to fill up as the pressure was so low. Other then that, the hotel was great, we had an amazing view of the skyline, and found room service great also.

Hotel itself overall was acceptable. The rooms were rather dark. I found the mattress to be hard and uncomfortable.

The Hyatt's a good hotel in a great position just off The Mag Mile. It's a business hotel though so very busy with conferences etc. Room was of a good clean standard but not overly modern, comfortable all the same. Personally I'll try somewhere else next time I visit Chicago

First, I loved the location. Easy walk to all the sights. The hotel staff, particularly the maids, were great. Unlike other hotels, the Hyatt maids made up our room early in the morning. Most hotels concentrate on the rooms that will be checking out, and if you are staying for any length of time your room will not get made until the afternoon. Our expectations were more than met, and the price was exceptional value for the money.

The hotel is very old fashioned, more like a tenament apartment block than a modern hotel. The staff, with the exception of one, were totally incompetent and couldn't seem to work out what to do with the two separate bookings that we had, even telling people that we had checked out when we were still there. I told them that I was expecting an important fax and they said I should wait by then desk when it was coming as otherwise they just bin any faxes received! I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I definitely would not stay there again.

Went to Chicago for our anniversary, and stayed at the Hyatt on Wacker Drive. We were there 15 years ago, and it is just as wonderful now as it was then. We were upgraded to a small suite on a high floor. The room was very clean, service was impeccable, decor very nice. We love having a drink the "Big Bar" before going out to dinner. All in all, a wonderful stay.
