[hidden] is located approximately 17 miles from O'Hare International Airport and within walking distance of Michigan Avenue stores, the Loop's business and theater districts, Millennium Park, the Museum Campus, and the Chicago Civic Opera House. Hotel amenities include the French-Deco Living Room lobby, featuring plush furnishings, artful details, and hosted evening wine reception that can also include a chair massage. The hotel's Southwater Kitchen's hors d'oeuvres are sometimes available during the reception. Southwater Kitchen also offers an American menu for daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other hotel services include valet laundry, complimentary overnight shoeshine, a business center, an exercise room, valet parking, and a full-service concierge. The pet-friendly hotel welcomes pets with a play toy and food and water dishes to take home with them when they leave. Walking services are also available. The Monaco also provides goldfish companions during guests' stays. Hotel staff cares for the fish, leaving guests to simply enjoy the company of their aquatic roommates. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The decor is fun, the rooms are clean and service is excellent! We also had some great recommendations from the Concierge(s). They are extremely friendly and very helpful. The hotel is also very close to pretty much anywhere you want to be in Chicago. It is a great spot and a very affordable rate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Chicago Hotel. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to go. We especially enjoyed the friendly helpfulness of the staff. Our expectations were met and we would highly recommend the Hotel Monaco to others.

This hotel is everything a Chicago visitor could want. It is convenient- just off Wacker and Michigan. Quiet for the location. We prefer small hotels to crowded mega hotels. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Hotel allowed us to check-in at 11 am. The promised free continental breakfast was great - large fresh fruit plate, coffee, fresh juice and toast. Hotel restaurant was convenient and we enjoyed out selections. Free wine in the evening and cookies in the afternoon were nice touches. Definitely a great value. We will stay at the Monaco whenever we are in Chicago. One disappointment - though the hotel was paid in advance, we found a $385 hotel charge to our credit card when we reconciled our bills for the weekend. A call to the hotel resulted in an apology for the error (intern?) and immediate credit.

I would recommend this hotel. I was particulary impressed when returning my first evening I found a goldfish bowl with a pretty goldfish inside with a handwritten note from the maid saying she noticed I was traveling alone and thought the little guy might keep me company! The room was clean and quiet and nicely decorated.
