My expectations were smashed because it was above and beyond what I had expected! I loved every second of the stay!

+ 42 inch flat screens, cool hotel, great location, free internet, free coffee in the morning, small workout room - no newspapers or in room coffee.
Overall, great stay.

The Sax is an older hotel that has been completely updates to a really nice botique hotel. The bar off the main lobby was really impressive with it's classic decor. The room was well appointed and decorated. It was convieniently located about a three minute walk from the CTA Blue line to O'Hare. I would reccomend staying there.

No, I would not recommend it to others. Despite the front desk staff being friendly, they were not very efficient and definitely not overwhelmingly helpful. The room we had was very small, the bathroom door doesn't close and reeks of an old hotel (not good for the money). Actually, being an old hotel is not a problem, but being old and unkempt is. The hotel staff NEVER restocked our shower gels. Nor did they change our towels from the day before. Nor did they restock hand soaps. The phone in the room never worked. I can go on and on but overall, other than a great location, everything else is left to be desired.

Great hotel, perfectly located, well decorated, with everything you need (restaurant, lounge..video games room) and a very sexy and comfy vibe.

We love to visit Chicago and always enjoyed staying at the House of Blues. We had the same expectation of the hotel under its new name. This was not the case. Our room was tiny and dark. We had reserved a king room and did not get one. When we called to correct the error, the hotel was not willing to change our room. They also did not seem the least bit sorry about the problem. The room lighting was so dark, I could not apply make up in the evening before going to dinner. While we will continue to visit the Windy City several times per year, we will now book at other hotels in the area.

What I liked about Hotel Sax was the location. Just North of the Chicago River between State & Dearborn. Easy walks to my favorite pizza places Uno & Due, and also close enough to Geno's East, close to Portillos for my Chicago hot dog fix and great Italian beef. I also walked to Carsons for ribs. I ate more pork during a week in Chicago than I do for a whole year. I was all over Chicago on the El trains. I was mostly using the Red and Blue lines and used the Green line to get to U of Chicago once. The hotel rooms are great. The room service for breakfast was great. The Bed and pillows great. Te only reason I did not give 5 stars was because I had to go to the front desk 3 times to have my keys reprogrammed as they mysteriously stopped working.

My room was great, it had a 42" plasma, king bed, floor to ceiling mirrors and a huge bathroom. Also, my floor (6th) had a game lounge. In the lounge they had free notebook computers that had internet access and 3 side by side TV's that had Xbox’s and PS2's available. I didn't even use this room, but I thought it was a great option to those who would enjoy this option!
I went to the bar on the first floor, and the drinks are reasonably priced for Chicago ($5 beers). Access to some great Chicago eats were only a block or two away. Directly across from the front lobby is House of Blues, so if you had tickets to an event there this of course is a perfectly situated hotel.
Go see the Hotel Sax for yourself next time you are in Chicago!

The hotel was undergoing renovation so there was a makeshift lobby on the 4th floor. Our room had been renovated and was very nicely appointed. The staff was extremely helpful & friendly.

Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The decor of HOB was unusual, not unpleasant, just unusual and one has to see it to describe it. Great location with shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Parking was expensive but average for the area.
