Good overall but the details were lacking. Had to move rooms due to barking dog next door (guests are allowed to leave dogs.unattended in rooms), neither phone worked in the new room, toilet handle had to be shaken to stop it from running, windows locked shut (!?), no drawers to put clothes and very little space for luggage. Hotel staff more than made up for these shortcomings.

Yes this is a top hotel which I can recommend to everybody.
Quality has his price. It met all my expectations and if I need to go back to Chicago I will book the same hotel

The elevators did not work well and left one with an unpleasant feeling. Otherwise the hotel is great. Doormen were excellent at all times.
We did not have hot water one day and the desk did adjust our bill.

We arrived at Chicago O'Hare Airport after a long flight from London Heathrow. The O'Hare HIlton was a perfect stopover prior to our onward journey to Iowa City the next day. It's just a short walk from the terminal building - no hanging around for a courtesy bus to an off-site hotel. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I made good use of the free swimming pool. The main restaurant was expensive so we purchased food at the in-house, El Mercato, at reasonable prices and ate in our room. We normally stay in cheaper hotels but the combination of a good deal through booking with Skoosh and the sheer convenience of this hotel's location led to us staying there this time. We recommend this hotel especially if, like us, you can get a special offer. We got what we expected - convenience, comfort, quiet and a good night.

Perfect location. Park a block away on Walton avenue and park for $29 and not the almost $60 through the hotel. Nix restaurant was fabulous for breakfast. Recommend the full breakfast.l love their potatoes at breakfast. Great location for the air show or magnificent mile attractions.
Would highly recommend. We were given an option to upgrade to small suite for $45/ night. It was a lovely room with separate shower and sitting area. Two flat screen TV's.
All staff were super and in particular the staff at the Nix restaurant were great.

I would recommend it to others. Loved the pool, hot tub etc. and our room was on the same floor. The neighborhood got a little iffy at night but was ok. Expectations were met. Room was nice and roomy.

The Essex Inn was a great value! Fit and finish and furnishings in the room were excellent. We were lucky enough to have a corner room with a partial lake / park view. We were pleasantly surprised. We expected to not to have such a great view given the amazing deal we got while booking. We did however find the bathroom and overall square footage of the room somewhat lacking. But everything else more than made up for it. Staff was pleasant and prompt. We would return and recommend.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Omni Chicago. The separate bedroom worked well for traveling with children. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the hotel brunch which is in a dining room overlooking the streets of Chicago. It is a great location for walking to the American Girl Store. The hotel pool was nice although we were a little disappointed that the hot tub was closed. We will stay at the Omni again while visiting Chicago.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Fantastic public spaces and service. Only complaint was that bed and chairs in rooms were too low. This may be stylish, but very hard to get in and out of if you're over 50. But that being said, I'll go back. Current rate is a great value.

My husband and I stayed here overnight during the Thanksgiving break away from relatives and kids and were very pleased with the choice. It's one of the few (maybe only) downtown Chicago hotels that offers free parking and is well located to walk to interesting restaurants and Michigan Avenue shopping. The hotel has a nice indoor rooftop pool (but not jacuzzi..slightly disappointing) and well-appointed rooms and everything's very clean.. The room decor is distinctive and pleasing (cool greens & grays) and staff friendly if not fully informed (a desk clerk recommended a restaurant that had been out of business for 5 months and a bill for the night got slid under our door though we'd booked via Skoosh-- a mistake readily remedied but shouldn't have happened!) Also Internet was down part of the time. To avoid city garbage truck noise we requested top floor--was fairly quiet esp. inside the hotel.

Had very nice time. Front desk service was great, very polite, we felt welcomed. We were there celebrating a birthday, and to our surprise we were sent a bottle of wine and bucket of beers. I did ask for a room with a view, but that didn't happen,our view was all buildings.The room was spacious. Bathroom was a little small and NO FAN in there.The bed was so-so. Disappointed that there was no fridge in the room, we had to rent one for $20.00 and no free wi-fi. $10.00 a day for internet just was NOT worth it. The sirens are constant during the night&all night long. Pool was not open, neither was the bar/rest. Which we were bummed cause we would have like to have sat up there and enjoyed the view along with a light meal and drink. Would stay there again. Great Location!

A lovely boutique hotel. About 100 metres from the El and a short walk to the Millennium Park. Beautifully appointed room. Friendly helpful staff

I typically don't stay at hotels as fine as the Hotel Palomar, but since we needed a place to stay after our wedding, we splurged. The hotel staff really made an effort to accommodate my request for an early check-in, and it was greatly appreciated. Since they knew the occasion, after our wedding we had a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us along with a card of congratulations. That was unexpected and a really nice touch. The room itself is spacious and the bathroom, too. The bed is very comfortable. We loved the big flat screen TV and our view of the city from the room. It was a little noisy at night with street noise, but that is to be expected in Chicago. We ate breakfast at the Sable restaurant and enjoyed it, however, service was a little slow.

This is the only place that I will stay when I go to Chicago. Great customer service. Rooms are a great size, the beds are like sleeping on a cloud!

It's a great hotel. The staff was very nice. The location is perfect. My only complaint is that they charge $15/day for internet. In this day and age, these sorts of extra charges are unconscionable.
