Terrace Hotel: Good Price for Location

Review by: Sarah , Chicago, United States

Stayed: Oct 2008

We stayed at the Terrace Hotel, as we had a Rehearsal Dinner for a wedding in Fountain Square. It was a very good price compared to other hotels in the area, so we decided to give it a try, but kept expectations low. The facility was old, but was kept clean and had a great view (from our room on the 17th floor). The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The walls were a bit thin, as we were awoken by our neighbors blasting terrible music early in the day. For the price and location, I would stay at the Terrace Hotel again.

Roaring Elevators Hotel

Review by: disappointed , LITTLESTOWN, United States

Stayed: Oct 2008

The hotel's central location was great.

The bathroom floor was not clean!

The Elevator's constantly ran all night --- and the noise and vibration kept us up thru the night.

The beds were too small --- full size for too peoplee --- not good.

Therefore this hotel was not a good value for the money!

I would not stay here again.

Kinda dirty.......

Review by: Jonathan , Fairfield, United States

I found that the employees where friendly but this hotel certainly need's some work. I found it knd of a shame that a hotel located in such a great location was so dirty. The remote in the room looked filthy and the carpet was pretty bad. I will say that the price was what attracted me to this hotel it was about 30% cheaper than other downtown hotels so maybe you get what you pay for. I would stay at The Terrace again based on the price and after a night of bar hopping I really dont notice the imperfections but I would certainly not recommend this hotel to people that are interested in a classy place. It should be noted that I stayed in a smoking room which I have notice industry wide tend to be a little more run down(even though they shouldn't). It is what it is.

The Terrace is a great place to stay if you are just looking for someplace to crash.

Good value, small bar area, small room, but a great place to sleep especially for the $$$!

The Terrace Hotel was OK for the price.

Review by: Traveler 892 , Bellville, United States

The continental breakfast was good. The rooms were very small, and the air conditioning / heat was not very easily adjusted so some of those in our group found their rooms much too warm. Compared to some other downtown hotels, the price was very good, but the hotel was definitely not as luxurious.
