it was cool to be one of the last guests before the renovation starts. The place has a lot of character and was just a really different experience. Jeff said it has an “old Hollywood� feel to it. It even had an old movie projector close to the lobby. The hotel was decked out in Christmas gear too. Other than me being really sick, we enjoyed a couple days to ourselves.

I would recommend this hotel to others, they will be doing some major renovations , when they are complete I probably won't be able to afford the stay. It was very charming, all our expectations were met.

Just loved it. The second time we booked to stay there.
This time we stayed 4 nights. Had a great holiday party set up there with music almost all day and so much to do I didn't even read my book. Found some interesting secret hide aways and explored and enjoyed all the history with tours and great food. Especially the Sunday champagne brunch...a must as the best we ever had.
We got a great deal through Skoosh and definitley worth the $100/night total cost.
Loved all the "old" smells of the hotel and can still smell them in our suitcases which keeps the memories alive.
Must get back there as they plan to close for 2 years for renovation in May 09. Won't be able to afford it after that, I am sure.

This isn't the place to go if you expect immaculate rooms--but it is lovely if you enjoy character, history and reasonable rates! It is being closed down in May '09 for three years for a major overhaul so visit while you can.

The Biltmore is like being at a museum but at the same time receiving resort comfort and attention. It's the kind of place you can park your car all weekend and not drive anywhere. We didn't want to leave the grounds. There is so much to explore and experience. If you go expecting a perfectly kept spotless 5 Star then you will be disappointed. But the Biltmore's charm is that it is far from perfect. It's very old with alot of character and history. The service, entertainment and food more than made up for the fact that the rooms are a little musty, the floors creak and you may run into a ghost or two in the middle of the night when you can't sleep! I can't wait to go back again before they renovate and make everything "better". Go now while it is still just old.
