Making A Booking

Q.

How do I cancel or amend my booking?

A.

Please send your cancellation request to us by email. We need it in writing so that we can confirm that it is coming from you and there is no misunderstanding of what action you want us to take. N.B. Any cancellations or amendments must be made through Skoosh directly and not with the hotel or this may affect any refund due to you.

Do I have to pay the whole amount due when I make a booking?

Can I book rooms for children or groups online?

A.

For the present, please email us with your group requirement details and our groups agent will contact you. Rooms for children can be booked online.

Q.

Which credit / debit cards can I use to make payment?

A.

We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro cards. European debit cards may be used if they contain a Visa logo facility. If you choose to pay by American Express there is an additional charge of 2% to cover the card processing fees.

Q.

Will I be charged if I cancel a booking - what is the minimum period of notice?

A.

Please check the terms and conditions pertaining to your booking, which will be available to read during the booking process.

Q.

What documentation will I receive after making my booking?

A.

Immediately after booking you will receive an email from us confirming your booking details and giving you the link to your voucher. Simply print off the voucher and give it to the hotel reception on arrival to prove you've booked and paid through Skoosh.

Q.

Do I have to re-confirm my booking?

A.

No - once your booking is made with us, the hotel receives your details automatically. Depending on the hotel in question, this usually happens 72 hours prior to your arrival.

Can I book last minute?

A.

Yes - we have online availability up to and including the day of arrival.

Can I book a suite or sea-view room etc?

A.

If we have different room types and views available we display them online.

Q.

Is it cheaper to book with Skoosh rather than direct with the hotel?

A.

We source all our hotels through wholesalers so our prices are among the cheapest you'll find online. If you're shopping purely on price, if may be worth looking around further.

If I shop around will I find cheaper rates than Skoosh?

A.

At the hotels we offer usually not. At other hotels probably, yes. If you simply want to find the cheapest deal in the city then it may be worth your while to keep looking. As with everything in life you can almost always find something 'similar' cheaper.

Q.

Does Skoosh offer any hotel special offers or discount deals online?

A.

Yes, where available we offer a full range of hotel special offers and discount deals through our online reservation service including reductions for longer stays, early booking discounts and last minute deals. We don't hide our best rates - any special offers are shown when you enter your travel dates.

Q.

Is the total price shown per person or per room?

A.

Once you've selected the number of guests before searching, the search result will show the price for your room. The price shown gives the total for all persons, inclusive taxes and breakfast (breakfast only if specified). Please note that a small number of hotels charge a resort fee. The hotels ask for these to be paid directly by customers upon check in. When known these will be listed within the description of the hotel or when selecting your room option.

Why are there occasional price differences throughout the year?

A.

This may depend on whether you are booking in low season ( November to March ) or high season ( April to October ). There may also be times when your preferred dates coincide with major trade fairs or localised events, during which periods hotels often increase the cost of their normally discounted rates to us as room availability is more scarce. We will always endeavour to find you the most competitively priced hotel rooms.

Do I get better prices if I book early or late?

A.

Prices change depending on a whole range of factors so it's not possible to predict. Some hotels offer their best rates far in advance then raise them as rooms fill up. Others leave their rates high until the last minute and then drop them. Our recommendation is to book when you see a price which suits you at the time.

What is the cost for using the reservation service?

A.

None.

Q.

What currency will I pay in?

A.

We take payments in British Pounds, Euros, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars, Norweigan Krone and Swiss Francs. You would be charged in the currency you select on Skoosh. If yours is different then your bank would convert the amount for you using their daily spot rate. Same would work for refunds and the amount paid and received is then likely to be different. Please note that some banks may charge a small commission fee for international payments.

Q.

Do I have to pay any joining fees or complete a reservation to become a member?

A.

No and no, becoming a member is 100% free. Skoosh welcomes all types of members.

Q.

How do I add an old or existing reservation to my new account?

A.

Send your request in to res@##REMOVE_ME##skoosh.com with the email address that the bookings were made with and the email address that your account is registered to.

Q.

Why are Members Only Hotels hidden?

A.

In order to offer these exclusive deals, we had to promise to only show them to our members. Quite simply, the rates are so low, they don't want to be seen advertising them on the main site.

Q.

When is the Members Only Hotel name revealed?

A.

As soon as you either sign in or register. Once you have, you'll see the full details of your hotel so you know exactly what you're booking well before making a reservation.

Q.

Does booking a Members Hotels mean I am compromising on quality?

A.

Quite the opposite. Our 'Members only' hotels are all from top brand names and get awarded their rating in exactly the same way as every other hotel on the site.

What do I do if I want more information on certain hotels?

A.

Does Skoosh offer child discounts?

A.

Most hotels do offer these, but they vary between properties.

Q.

Can children under the age of 18 book and stay in accommodation alone?

A.

For legal and safety reasons, many hotels do not accept booking from unaccompanied children and we strongly recommend that you contact us prior to booking, as children under 18 may be refused accommodation if they arrive without a responsible adult.

Q.

Why do you charge the full amount for late cancellations. Is this usually the case?

A.

The hotels we offer on Skoosh are heavily discounted and, like cheap airline tickets, we have stricter cancellation charges than companies selling full price rooms.

Q.

Are my credit card and personal details secure?

A.

Our site is secure - upon entering your details, these will be encrypted. We store a minimum of customer information and we never pass this on to any other company or supplier.

Q.

Do the hotels featured have parking facilities and are there any charges for parking?

A.

Some hotels offer parking facilities either on-site or nearby - most levy parking charges which will vary, approximate fees are shown (where known) in our hotel information pages.

Q.

What time can I check in at the hotel?

A.

Check in time at most hotels usually starts around 14:00 onwards to allow the rooms to be cleaned and re-stocked after the previous occupant/s, but some hotels may allow you to check in earlier and most will let you leave your luggage at reception. Your rooms are guaranteed for late arrival. Please note however, that if you fail to check in by 09:00 a.m. the following day, the hotel is under no obligation to keep your room and you will not be refunded.

What is the latest time that I can check out?

A.

Check out time is usually around 11:00 a.m., however, please ask at your chosen hotel as they may offer a late check out facility ( this usually carries a small fee.) Most hotels will allow you to leave your luggage at reception and collect it before leaving for the airport.

Q.

Why do some hotels require a credit card imprint on check-in?

A.

This is a standard requirement in most hotels worldwide and is only taken as a precaution, so as to guarantee payment of any incidental charges (such as telephone calls, room service etc.). But on check-out, the hotel will usually give you the option of paying by cash instead.

Q.

Will there be any additional charges for facilities at the hotel?

A.

Some hotels may levy daily or weekly charges for room safe's or gym/leisure facilities and where these are confirmed to us, we will always display them.

Q.

Can I make specific requests to the hotel - i.e. disabled facilities, non-smoking rooms?

A.

You can request no-smoking rooms as part of your reservation. Please note that it is a request only as few hotels will guarantee this option. For special requirements such as disabled facilities please email us and we will contact the hotel to check if they can accommodate your request.

Q.

What is the difference between buffet and continental breakfast?

A.

Continental breakfast will typically consist of croissants, rolls or bread, jams and marmalades, tea / coffee and fruit juices. Buffet breakfast will usually consist of croissants, rolls or bread, salami and other meats, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, fruit, jams & spreads, tea / coffee and fruit juices. There may also be some hot food choices, such as sausages, eggs and bacon.

Can I make a name change if I cannot travel?

A.

Yes, provided you give us a minimum of 48 hours notice so that we can advise the hotel. We will not charge you for making a name change although, very occasionally, the hotels may levy a charge to us. In these cases, we will ask you if you wish to accept the charge before going ahead.

Q.

Are all rooms en-suite?

A.

Most of the rooms offered through Skoosh are en-suite, however, we will advise you when they are not by clearly stating 'shared facilities', which means there is a bathroom for your use (but not private) along the corridor from your room.

Q.

What does 'en-suite' mean?

A.

En-suite facilities always include a shower or a bath, or both, a basin and a WC. Many hotels will not guarantee either a shower or bath specifically but, if you have a preference, please state it when making a booking and we will pass your request on to the hotel.
