The real difference was the staff. I was there during the jazz festival and the live music at the hotel bar and court yard patio was a real plus. Yes; the hotel guest rooms are small, but I did not spend much time there. |

The Clarion Hotel Twenty Seven sits a stone's throw from Copenhagen City Hall with its bell tower. The bells chime every 15 minutes from 8 am until midnite. That was really the only disconcerting thing about the property. The rooms were well appointed, not large but very comfortable. Lots of shelving (no drawers) for putting things away. Bathroom had a vanity where toiletries could be put. Being on the front of the hotel was a bit noisy (there are lots of clubs on the street). The location was great. There was a breakfast buffet and an evening "tapas" buffet included in the price which was a wonderful deal given the expense of Copenhagen. The staff was lovely and helpful -- even found us a room the morning we arrived at 8:30, way before normal checkin. My expectations were definitely met and I would stay again on a trip to Copenhagen. |

We stayed at 27 for two nights in May. The hotel is quite funky, and the rooms are nice, plus the location is great!!! However, in some ways it was a bit of style over substance. The breakfasts were good, but there were so many people, more than there were tables, and the staff couldn't cope with trying to clear up the dirty dishes. Reception was friendly, but again there is generally only one person on, meaning the small lobby was constantly crowded with people waiting to check in or out, ask directions, etc. We had a room looking down on the courtyard, which was nice. Except that the outdoor bar is in the courtyard too - and they party and play music until the early hours. And with no a/c we had to either roast or leave the windows open. Guess the earplugs were a give away! |

Commuting to copenhagen each week, I always end up staying at the Hotel 27. I've tried many other hotels in CPH, but this one has a great combination of cool design, newly furnished rooms, yummy breakfast (especially the yoghurt/syrap/fruit thingys), good service, centrally located, reasonably priced, neat lounge bar and to put icing on the cake: they even include a healthy dinner buffet in the price! |
