In 1943 the Sisters of the Holy Child purchased the property and provided accommodation for girls who came to work and study in Dublin. It has since undergone a complete refurbishment to restore the beauty of its Georgian architecture. The original style and architecture have been retained and sympathetically coupled with all the modern amenities. In addition to a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service and lift access, facilities available to guests at the air-conditioned 28-room hotel include a breakfast room and car park.
This historic city hotel is situated on Harcourt Street off the southwest corner of St. Stephen's Green. It is on the LUAS (tram system) line which runs from Grafton Street (one stop) to the north and to the Green Line Sandyford in the South. It is less than five minutes' walk from Grafton Street at the heart of Dublin's city centre. Most major shops, restaurants, theatres and pubs can be reached on foot, as can Trinity college, Dublin Castle and the Gaiety Theatre. Dublin Airport is approximately 12 km from the hotel. Breakfast is a special treat. Apart from the traditional Irish breakfast, guests can sample the speciality omelettes, pancakes and fish dishes. Freshly squeezed fruit juices, copious amounts of fresh fruit, yoghurts and freshly baked breads are order of the day. Due to the abundance of restaurants nearby this accommodation offers a guest service menu available at selected times. By car from Dublin Airport: Follow the signs for Dublin City Centre to O'Connell Street. Continue over O'Connell Bridge and turn right with the traffic around Trinity College. Stay in the left-hand lane and through onto Nassau Street. Take the second turn right onto Kildare Street. Stay in the left-hand lane. At the top of Kildare Street turn left and then continue straight along Merrion Row. Go to the 2nd set of traffic lights and take a right at Pembroke Street. At the top of Pembroke Street take a right turn onto Leeson Street. Go to the left-hand lane and take a left turn onto Earlsfort Terrace. Take the 1st right immediately after the National Concert Hall onto Hatch Street. At the end of Hatch Street turn right again which will lead onto Harcourt Street. Harrington Hall is approximately 50 yards down on the right-hand side. We advise guests to park out front opposite the hotel at first. The car park is immediately past the front door - just turn right into Stable Lane. Guests should drive slowly as they will have to go around again if they miss the entrance. |
