My daughter and I were delighted with our stay at the Mespil, November 2009. The hotel is well located, ten minutes' walk from Dublin City centre, fairly close to a DART railway station, which we used to visit the coast one day. The Mespil was very clean. Our room was a good size. The hotel's Irish breakfast was excellent. Staff were without exception helpful, giving lots of advice on places to visit, where to find them, etc. Also there were some good places to eat in the parade of shops just next to the hotel - we used the Thai and Behoff's fish and chip, both of them excellent. We felt that for the price we paid this was a very good value option. The only criticism was that our room, at the back of the hotel, had noise at night from deliveriy lorries on the street below.

We would recommend the Mespil Hotel to others. It was clean, warm and comfortable. We were worried we may be a too far out of the centre but the local buses are great and buses 10 and 11 run close by and take you into town. The staff were very helpful and it was great to be able to leave our luggage in the safe room on our day of departure. Our only moans (and they are small ones) were that the orange juice at breakfast was incredibly weak and the curtain pulley in our oom was broken. Minor issues! We had a great three days and would return to The Mespil

Clean, comfortable. The staff were pleasant and only too keen to help. The breakfasts were good with plenty of variation.Only one evening meal was taken which was excellent and good value for money.
