The O'Callaghan Davenport is a great hotel where history and modernity unite, and is perfectly located for exploring the wealth of experiences Ireland?s capital has in store for you. A fusion of old and new is a distinctive feature of this traditional, elegant hotel and it is Imaginatively decorated in warm, vibrant colours. Facilities are excellent and If fitness is your relaxant, there is a 24-hour gymnasium for exclusive use of hotel residents. (GW 11/2012).

Situated just moments away from the historic Merrion Square, it is found in a quiet oasis in the very heart of Dublin. Gather with local artists on Merrion Square at the weekends to take in local artwork while taking in the finest Georgian Square in the country, plunge into Viking Dublin at Wood Quay, explore the City Wall on Cook Street, still standing from the 12th century, pick up some purchases at nearby Grafton Street, and visit the National Library or National Art Gallery, with its iconic paintings and sculptures, just a stone?s throw from the hotel?s doorstep. The Davenport is well-serviced by a varied transport network;LUAS, rail, bus routes and rental bikes are all in close proximity and, for ease of access to and from Dublin Airport, the air coach service is situated just moments away.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by the hotel?s striking facade, distinguishing it from any other. It is all that remains of the landmark building, Merrion Hall just off Merrion Square designed by Alfred G Jones in 1863, after a fire engulfed the building in 1990. The interior refurbishment and exterior restoration has been sensitive to the historic nature of the building

Very striking and large lobby as you are within the main original hall that has been sympathetically restored.

There are 103 superbly-appointed en suite rooms, 10 junior and 2 one-bedroom suites. The Classic category comes with 2 single beds or a King Bed and are approximately 30 square metres. Décor is traditional Irish with well appointed soft furnishings and dark wood. Room includes air conditioning / tea & coffee making facilities / personal safe / hairdryer / WIFI available / 28? LCD tv with on demand movies, music and internet browser.
