This Hotel is located in a quiet residential part of Edinburgh but well worth the sacrifice of not being in the city centre. This place is excellent value for money with first class service throughout. My only regret is I didn't have time to use the leisure club.......it looked very impressive.
I was very impressed with the reception staff, they were efficient, helpful and very pleasant.
I don't often have the chance to stay in Edinburgh; if I do I will definitely stay here again

Hard bed hotel

We found the bed far to hard to sleep on, we asked the management for a softer cover which we did not receive. We also had an alarm clock in the room, which was hard wired into the back of the plug so could not be disconnected, every morning the alarm went off at 6 am and after we switched it off it kept coming on again, it took 2 days for the management to work out how to stop the alarm going off. We found the rest of the hotel to be good and the free entry tickets to Edinburgh Castle were excellent.

Yes would recommend to others, with its helpful cheerful staff. Bedroom lighting should be improved to enable reading. Parts of breakfast became too dry for consumption ( black pudding, particularily) Overall good value for money, and our expectations were met.

Pleasant Week at Edinburth Capital

We stayed at Edinburgh Capital Hotel for over a week while visiting relatives -convenient to the airport and their house. Did not have a car but could easily take a bus into town . Used taxi twice. The hotel was very nice and very clean, something I am particular about. Staff friendly and helpful. We had a large standard room with a queen bed. View from our window was beautiful: we could see the Forth and Pentlands. Used the gym and pool and was happy with them. Full Scottish breakfast large and good quality, also with a variety of cereals, fruits, cheese and beverages same every day, however. There were 2 large parties on the weekend but our room was extremely quiet. (In response to other review: for washcloths, bring your own, not usually supplied in UK or EU) Hotel refurbished in 2005&very slightly worn, only reason for "Very Good" rating.
