Edinburgh City Hotel

The hotel is situated in about 10-15 min walk from the Castle. Grassmarket with restaurants and bars is within walking distance. Still, the hotel is quite far from the Weverly station - you will have to book a taxi to get there. The hotel is standard, room is ok for a couple of days stay. The only trouble is breakfast - during holidays the place was crowded, while waiters were very slow. Their only interest is to sell you full English breakfast, while no one bothers to refill the continental buffet with ham/coffee/fruits/ and even coffee cups - it was quite irritating when you finally manage to get a waiter refill the coffee flask to see that all the cups are gone, and by the time they get you a clean cup the coffee is already finished.

Booked it based on price and location. Read reviews from past customers and was not expecting it to be at the same as the Best Western in the USA.
Arrived early at 10 AM in the morning to drop off he luggage and was not expecting to check in but they had a room available and allowed early check in. Gave us a very large 1 bedroom suite 20 feet x 20 feet big.
Standard breakfast was included in the price.
The staff service was great. Even though they did not get a chance to clean the room due to the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, they left us a whole set of clean towels in front of the room.
Only thing form being perfect is that the cleanliness of the couch, carpet, and the chair upholstery. There are stains every where.

We would recommend to others,as it was excellent value for money.the breakfast was fab it could feed you up for the day,if you wanted it to
Bedrooms were of high standard,but the television very old fashion.THe restruant was good for breakfast but not very good for evening meal
Staff very friendly,and good position for bus stops
Overall great hotel and lovely city to visit
