Very clean cute room. EN-suite was spotless. Also had tv. Good value as other BBs in edinburgh at this time were over £150.

Good:
- location near Arthur's Seat, and yet reasonably close to city
- availability of onsite parking
- quality of breakfast (considering huge numbers catered for)

Bad:
- not a hotel and check-in staff (mostly students) didn't know enough about various aspects of accommodation, or didn't volunteer enough info
- only one room key ("I quote: "Otherwise guests lose them and we have to replace them" Duh, get a keycard system)
- my wife unable to get into my room because of (a) one key situation, and (b) intercom on Masson House not working for whole of our stay.
- incredibly crowded breakfast (but it was the Edinburgh Festival to be fair)

Ugly:
- building works on Masson House; definitely completely unacceptable
- very small room with equally small bathroom, only really suitable for single. One bedside table!

Yes i would recommend it to others.
The breakfast was varied and you would be hard pressed not to get good value for your money.
The room was a typical university bedroom but more than adequate and was very clean with room service daily.
Lovely walk through Holyrood park into Edinburgh centre.
Buses available and constant taxi service outside but can walk into town centre.

Very good location and close to the city centre. Taxi was £5 in the evening but very difficult to get one though. During the day you have got many buses right the door step. Food was ok - standard. Overall really good value for money. Window was slightly damaged but was not a problem to close and open it. I would stay there again and would recommend it to a friend.

We had a double room in the student halls at Pollock during a festival weekend in August 08. The room was clean and comfortable though well used and a bit tired looking. Great breakfast. All in all - good value.
