We felt so comfortable and genuinely cared-for by the hotel manager, Alan Bailey, that we extended our stay from 5 to 7 days and at that were sad to leave! The environment showed some wear and tear, but that did not detract from the visit at all. In fact, it is undergoing a major renovation at the end of this month to correct some things, but I hope they don't change too much and lose the innate charm of the place.
The setting was lovely, just across the street from a major parkland (The Meadows) in Edinburgh and not situated amongst a bunch of other hotels. We walked everywhere with 2 choices of easy routes to the major sights and districts. We would (and hope to) return there without hesitation.
