Helpful staff, room was spacious and well furnished. Breakfast was good. A little outside the center of town/tourist attractions, but neighborhood is well-served by buses.

My daughter and I loved our room, the wonderful service and the delicious breakfasts each day. The hotel is a beautiful mansion with views of a small river on one side and a park on the other. It's a 5 minute walk to the center of town and ten-fifteen minute walk to the castle. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more eager to help in any way possible, with touring advice, providing internet service, calling a cab, any request. The room price was extremely moderate, a great value.

The hotel was nicely situated just a few minutes walk from the main attractions in the City. We had a top floor room, looking out towards the Castle which was really great in the evenings when it was all lit up. The room itself was large, clean and well furnished. There was a very acceptable bathroom adjacent. The Scottish breakfast was extremely good with a huge choice including cooked, continential and an excellent selection of fruit. All the staff in the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. Admittedly the lift was very tiny but perfectly adequate for getting cases up to the top floor but the walk up and down the stairs helped work off the excellent breakfasts. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
