The Ramada Jarvis [hidden] is situated right in the heart of Edinburgh, just 200 yards from Edinburgh Waverly Train Station and six miles from the airport. The shopping and sights of Princes Street are literally on your doorstep, with the Royal Mile, West End, Edinburgh Castle, the Edinburgh Dungeon and an array of other attractions within a few minutes' walk. Public transport links are excellent too, with several major bus routes right outside the front door and express airport bus service right across the road.

All 158 rooms come as standard with combined bath/shower, direct dial telephone, internet access, full length mirror, hairdryer, satellite TV with pay movies, trouser press and tea/coffee making facilities. You also have the option to upgrade to one of their Castle View rooms, where you can take advantage of several additional features, including iron and board, still and sparkling water and a morning paper delivered to your door.

The hotel's Arts Restaurant provides enviable views of the city and serves a cosmopolitan menu to suit all tastes. You can also take the opportunity to unwind and enjoy a drink in the friendly surroundings of the bar from early morning to late into the night. The room was a castle view which was newly refurbished and very posh! We paid for the Champagne package which was a nice treat in the room on arrival with a bottle of champers on ice, a lovely bunch of flowers and a fruit bowl and the breakfast was well worth getting up for! Check in was a little slow however the hotel was in a great location and we really enjoyed our stay.

Location is perfect - on Princes St with restaurant/lounge giving great views accross to the castle.
food was good, staff friendly and very helpful.
Our room - at the rear was a bit tired and compact but spotlessly clean. Overall good value.
Front facing rooms probably worth paying supplement for

Thank you for your email we had a fantastic time in Edinburgh. The Mount Royal was a great hotel very central, clean with great views of the castle.
The staff were very helpful and kind. Our room although at the back of the hotel was very clean and exactly what we required as we spent a lot of time site seeing and if we needed a view we went to the lounge. We do hope to return to Edinburgh in the future and we would have no hesitation in returning to the Mount Royal.
