The Roxburghe Hotel is one of Edinburgh's finest and most elegant first-class hotels located in historic Charlotte Square one of Europe's finest examples of Georgian architecture. We had a pay for 2, stay for 3 night deal. The hotel is very handy for all the most interesting parts of Edinburgh, was clean, pleasant and quiet at night. We would use this hotel again, but would try to eat out more as the food is average in every respect, except price.

The Roxburghe is a good setting for a short break in Edinburgh. It has good facilities - although we only looked at the 'Health and Fitness' stuff through the window on the way back from a large Scottish Breakfast!

We had one dinner in the restaurant which was good, although rather small portions - the advertised fishcakes (pl) turned out to be just one fishcake, although this was just a starter.

The concierges and all staff were friendly and very helpful.

The Roxburghe is situated at the western edge of the city centre, in Charlotte Square, but is in easy walking distance of all the central sites and makes a good base for site-seeing.

Loved the hotel . Excellent location for New Year. Staff friendly and very efficient. Would have liked free wifi but rooms good although badly lit. Good hairdrier and iron and board welcome. Breakfast good but a little lacking in vegetarian option for hot meal. Cold buffet nice. Jimmy was welcoming and called us by name which I liked. We got such a good deal from Skoosh. Expedia rarely includes breakfast. We had coffee in lounge which came with mince pies and a very sweet waiter. Very reasonable price. Highly recommend this hotel and I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star in Edinburgh. It compares well.

The Roxburghe Hotel is in a great location in Edinburgh, Scotland. Hotel is a converted Georgian mansion overlooking Charlotte Square, easy walk to all the sights and shopping. Tastefully decorated with lovely flowers in the window boxes. In the rooms, very modern decor, good linens, very helpful staff, nice "full" breakfast, which is included. Only thing stopping an Excellent rating is that the small elevator was out of order for some of the time we were there, but it's only a 3-floor hotel so not really a problem. My husband and I would certainly recommend it.
