This air-conditioned city hotel features historic architecture reminiscent of a French chateau. It stands on a hillside overlooking the largest urban parkway in North America, The North Saskatchewan River Valley. Charm and classical elegance are the defining features of this hotel, which was built in 1915. The 199 distinctive guest rooms are well-appointed with state-of-the-art amenities, and a range of elegant meeting rooms are also available to guests. Here guests can enjoy exquisite dining Canadian-style and enjoy the hotel's splendid gardens. Further facilities include an entrance hall with 24-hour reception and check out, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, lift access, a bar, WLAN Internet access and room and laundry services. The hotel also provides ample parking for those arriving by car. This hotel participates 'Green Partnerhip Program'. The hotel is located in downtown Edmonton, looking out over the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Driving from Edmonton International Airport: The distance from the airport to the hotel is approximately 29 km. Take the Queen Elizabeth II Highway North, which becomes Gateway Boulevard at the city limits. Gateway Boulevard ends at Saskatchewan Drive. Turn right onto Saskatchewan Drive, then left on 99th Street. Cross the Low Level Bridge, following the signs for City Centre, up McDougall Hill. Turn right onto Jasper Avenue. The hotel driveway is accessible from Jasper Avenue, immediately on the right-hand side.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Particularly impressed with high level of customer service. Arrived in Edmonton several hours ahead of check-in because of a change in flight schedule & was allowed to check in immediately. Had requested a room with two beds & the room available had a king bed. Was told I could "view"a room with two doubles later in the day & decide which room I preferred. Reception staff extremely efficient & pleasant. Room nicely appointed; beds very comfortable.

Beautiful Rooms, comfortable beds c/w great linens,the view was excellent and the complete staff from front desk, porters to room service was exceptional. My only negative.. We had requested a limo service and found that he was rude and did not provide the vehicle type that we preferred. We refused to pay for the service and told the front desk never to use that paticular service again.

I generally love this Hotel. Unfortunately they were unprepared for a "full house" and there was no food available in the Bar upon our return to the Hotel at 11:30 pm only a very limited room service menu. (Yet the bar was open until 1:00 am). The hotel had not anticipated the # of people with a major concert, large wedding on site, conference etc. We were given a complimentary breakfast the next morning which helped to make up for the lack of food/service on the Saturday evening.
