My wifeand I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western, Humboldt Bay. It was very convenient to downtown Eureka and the historic area. The facilities appeared to be relatively new and maintained in very good condition - both the exterior and within the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was everything we would expect in a quality three-star motel. Parking was a little tight, but adequate. Only minor complaint was with the level of lighting available in the room for reading, and the convenience of electrical outlets for plugging in personal appliances like laptop computersand recharging equipment for cell phones and cameras. Would definitely recommend it to others.

We paid about double to stay here versus the roadway inn because the reviews stated how quiet, safe and comfortable the hotel is. Unfortunately - we had a violently loud and angry neighbor that you could feel shaking the paper thin walls as he threw things around. Granted, this isn't the hotel's fault but I was a bit unimpressed that our comment to the hotel desk the following day didn't get followed up with an offer to have the GM call us for resolution. If a manager on-site isn't available to resolve a poor experience, they need to train their staff to handle it or at least offer to have the manager call the customer. We paid double to stay here for the reputation that the Best Western carries but I didn't find this one up to par. Nice looking landscape though...
