I normally stay at 5-star hotels that are part of large American hotel chains, mainly Marriotts and occasionally Starwood hotels (Westin-s), so I was a little jittery when making the booking. My fears turned out to have been totally groundless: the hotel was in every possible way excellent, the room was spacious and immaculately clean, the bathroom was super stylish and spotless, all the goodies one would expect to find in the bathrooms of some of the finest 5-star hotels were there and everything was working smoothly. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the service (including the room service) was super kind and friendly and the reception staff were maybe the best I had seen in years - nice and helpful and ready to go the extra mile about whatever whim I managed to come up with. And, of course, the location could not be beat - Lungarno and Tornabuoni.

It would have been much better but it was very overpriced for the amenities. They were not overly friendly. Felt like I was bothering them. We were at the Hilton Metropole for the first few days so we could have a car and wished we had just stayed there the whole time. It was less than half and much nicer. The air cond. at the Berchielli was just okay. No room service etc.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, spotless and exactly as I requested (non-smoking, with a bathtub). The staff were friendly, and the breakfasts were delicious with a huge variety of things to eat to suit all tastes. The location is perfect, all the historical sights are within easy walking distance.

We would highly recommend this hotel and it more than met our expectations. It was very pretty, perfect location, great helpful staff & great breakfast. We loved it.

I spent seven nights in the Berchielli. This hotel is in a great location for seeing all the wonderful historic aspects of Florence, everything within easy walking distance. Close to good restaurants. The hotel personal was very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and larger than I had expected. The breakfast had a large variety of breakfast foods to choose from, more than any other place I have stayed at in Europe. Noise from the road makes it impossible to sleep with the windows open but that is to be expected in the middle of a city and once the windows are closed the noise disappears. This was an excellent value for my money and would stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location for seeing all the wonderful historic aspects of Florence(museum,river) , everything within easy walking distance.

The hotel personal was very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and larger than average room. The breakfast had a large variety of breakfast foods to choose from, more than any other place I have stayed at in Europe.

i booked double room but we stayed junior hooneymoon room( specially they changed room without any extra charge) This was an excellent value for my money and would stay there again

only disappoint thing is internet used at the lobby.
