If you’re looking to stay in an economy class hotel in the center of Florence, this is it. If we decide to stay in Florence again we will not bother with a car as everything you want to see is in walking range or a short bus ride. Save your money for great food & wine, Hotel Giada is a good place to lay your head for the evening.

We stayed at Hotel Giada room #104 our friends #1 on Via del Canto de’Nelli, which is across the street from the San Lorenzo church. We could literally step outside and be in the center of the San Lorenzo street market. Walk out the door, make a left then another left at the corner walk to the back of the building and you are at the central market building filled with food and wine at good prices. The rooms are small but comfortable and all the staff we dealt with over our four day stay could not have been more helpful making reservations and giving directions. Downside is parking it is expensive at the train station (37 Euro over night!!!) and near the hotel but underground at the Fortaza, a twenty minute walk, was 18 euro per 24 hours.

Very good location, huge room, OK breakfast, overall very good value for money. One very rude member of staff let it down a bit but there seemed to be lots of grumpy staff in hotels and restaurants all over Italy!

I was assigned in room 30 which is not actually a bed room, probably be made from a cabinet. The room is small and noisy ( close to the stairs), the air conditioner is leaking water. The host is not so patient who spoke bad English who could become pissed off if others can't understand his English (if that can be considered as English). Stay away from the hotel.

The Giada hotel was a very reasonably priced, which on a budget was our main reason for booking. Upon arrival we found the hotel to be in a good location, very close to all the main attractions. The staff were helpful, and most were friendly. We stayed in a double ensuite room which was a nice size with an air conditioning unit which was very well recieved, in the heat of July. The breakfast was a standard continental style of pastries and coffee. Overall a very nice Budget hotel which met all our expectations.
