This is a new 4-star hotel in the heart of Florence, just two steps from the trade fair and conference centre. This is an historical 4-star superior property completely renovated and very close to the city centre and the main exhibition centre. The hotel has an annexe and sometimes they can confirm rooms from annexe side. Clients might be upgraded to the new annexe of the hotel. DO 0908. This fine villa, restored to its original splendour, is designed to be a home for visitors staying in the city for business or for pleasure. Comfortable rooms, complete with working areas for communication and information. Complete comfort and relaxation is assured in the elegant marble bathrooms, complete with ample surface areas, magnifying mirrors, hair dryers and Jacuzzi baths or showers. The hotel has a breakfast room only. The lobby is small but elegant and in harmony with the characteristic of this historical building. 1 km to the nearest fair site (fortezza da basso), 1 km to the nearest station (santa maria novella), 1 kms to city centre, 4 kms to the nearest airport (peretola), 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 60 km to the nearest beach.

As of July 2011 Florence is introducing a new city tax to be paid by the guest to the hotel directly prior to their departure. This will be charged up to a maximum of 10 days, per person per day (excluding children under 10 years old). The tax rate ranges from € 1.00 per day for a 1 star hotel to € 5.00 per day for 5 star hotels.

I noticed 4-star hotels in Italy are more like 2-stars. I stayed in several "4-stars" hotels during my road trip in Italy, and I was disappointed with most of them. However, the Lorenzo il Magnifico in Florence met all the my expectations of a 4-star hotel. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The costumer services was excellent. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Florence.

Hotel Lorenzo was truly magnificant

The staff at the hotel were so friendly, helpful and considerate. They offered great suggestions on where to eat, how to get to places, etc. the room was lovely. Really hot!!! Ask how to work the temp control panel. Expectations were met. the hotel is close to alot of places. Its about a 15 min from the main sites in Florence. Enjoy your time!
