This is a delightful family run pensione style little hotel in the heart of historical Florence at easy walking distance of the Duomo, the Giotto bell tower, the Ponte Vecchio, the Piazza della Signoria, San Lorenzo and Santa Maria Novella churches. It is owned and run by the very Florentine Viti family who speak fluent English and who are always available and willing to advise clients on where to go and what to do in Florence and the Tuscany region. The hotel's 20 rooms are nicely decorated and sober with modern facilities like air conditioning, satellite television, telephone, modem connection and a full bathroom making this property a genuine home away from home hotel. ***There is city tax payable by guest directly to hotel

As of July 2011 Florence is introducing a new city tax to be paid by the guest to the hotel directly prior to their departure. This will be charged up to a maximum of 10 days, per person per day (excluding children under 10 years old). The tax rate ranges from € 1.00 per day for a 1 star hotel to € 5.00 per day for 5 star hotels.

Very friendly & helpful staff

I'd recommend this hotel simply because the price was right, the breakfast was good and the staff was so helpful and friendly. The only thing is if you are on the ground floor next to the side street, be prepared to be woken up early with all the noise from the carts that go buy every day for the open market that is a few blocks away.

We loved Nuova Italia Hotel Florence

The location of hotel was exellent near the main sights of Florence but on quiet place along the walk street. The staff of hotel was very kind and helpfull. The breakfast was quite simple but tasty. We had a good value for our money.

Great location

Would definitely recommend it to all - provided you can climb stairs. No lift. Very helpful owner who organised all our tours.

Grand Hotel - good good and good!!!

- Very close to Termini - The room is clean - The service is good (all ppl in there know English!)
