This aristocratic residence dates back to the 14th century and was built by the Naldinis, an important banking and merchant family in Florence. The house features 10 elegantly decorated guestrooms, all with high ceilings, frescoed walls and antiques. As well as period touches such as terracotta flooring, Persian rugs and silver chandeliers, guests are also provided with modern amenities such as air conditioning, Internet access and the Le Botteghe di Donatelllo Restaurant which serves Italian and Tuscan style cuisine. As of July 2011 Florence is introducing a new city tax to be paid by the guest to the hotel directly prior to their departure. This will be charged up to a maximum of 10 days, per person per day (excluding children under 10 years old). The tax rate ranges from € 1.00 per day for a 1 star hotel to € 5.00 per day for 5 star hotels.
