As of July 2011 Florence is introducing a new city tax to be paid by the guest to the hotel directly prior to their departure. Very friendly and helpful staff

The room was well furnished, comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly, making our stay extra enjoyable. The hotel is facing a little park beside the river just a few miutes walk from the Ponte Vecchio. The roof terrace, with views over the park and river is a real oasis, in what can be a hot and bustling city. Have stayed in Florence several times before and this is the best hotel we have stayed at and will recommend it to all our friends.

Good location

The hotel was in a great location a short walk from all the major tourist attractions in Florence. Good breakfast on a very nice veranda! The room was big but a bit outdated, but worked fine. Only problem we had was that we left our luggage at the hotel since we were leaving later that evening. The hotell staff did not put our luggage in a secure room (something we thought they had done), but in the dining area room that was public for all hotel guest. A folder was missing from one of our backpacks when we picked our luggage up. Not acceptable. So just make sure they put your luggage in a secure room! I would probably stay here agian because of price and location.

The Silla Hotel in Florence, Italy

The Silla is a great value. We thought that we were on a movie set. Our room was nicely appointed and our little balcony looked out to the city and the river. We looked down onto the roof garden full of plants and flowers, tables and unbrellas. You could eat your breakfast out there in nice weather. Breakfast was complimentary and fabluous..fresh fruit , eggs, pastry, meats and cheese etc. The dining room was beautiful - very elegant old world. All the people in the hotel were helpful and nice. A great experience

They were very accomodating at the Silla

For the price we paid we were very satisfied, a little over $700 US for six nights. The room was very large and clean and the front desk staff were wonderful. Our expectations were more than met. Even though it is not near the train or bus station the nearby sites were within walking distance and we never paid more than 11 euros for a cab when we did take one.

Good, clean, friendly, convenient, recommended

We stayed for 6 nights in late November/early December. Selected the hotel for it's ease of access to the Florence marathon start and finish. Helpful staff, with good English. Breakfast was continental but well stocked. We got a large room to the rear which overlooked a rear street. Noicy in the moring as people delivered goods, went to work etc. Didn't bother us but rooms overlooking courtyard may be quieter. Very handy for town, 10 minute walk. No 23 bus will take you to/from railway station in 15mins. Stops are not far from hotel. Clean, friendly, recommended.
