a Skoosh reservation here will get you a courtyard (parking lot) view room in the older annex with or without a balcony (a few have them, most don't). the rooms are large and clean although fairly old and in need of some attention (carpet in my room was burned by the iron, for instance). CRT tvs also are outdated (obviously). these rooms are generally fine unless they are on the bottom floor where you may be bothered by auto noise. request a marina view with a balcony. i don't believe this is an upgrade money-wise so they should accommodate. on the very positive side, the location to price ratio here is high. nice beach and bars are 1 to 10 min walks . you'll be perfectly satisfied if you get out and don't hermit in the room. it's not romantic, honeymoon material but it's completely solid for anything else.

The resort was in a great location. Elevated walkway to the beach across the road. The sun trolley stopped at the resort making it easy to travel around Ft. Lauderdale as we didn't have a car. We stayed in a marina view room which was old, but very clean and nice. We had a great view of the marina, Port Everglades and 17th street. We stayed two nights pre-cruise and would stay here again.

No we actually would not recommend it.
We were dissappointed at the drabbness of the place: I became very itchy, initially I immediately thought of bed bugs but I think it was the heating system was VERY old & dirty appearing. The bedding was clean.
We don't feel it was good for our money; it is in bad need of renevating & restoring.
Our expectations were not met!!

All in all Bahis Mar was a great hotel. The rooms were clean, and then beds were extremly comfrotable. They provided great hair and body products which I know to some of you this may not matter, but as a female I can appreciate great products. The pool was okay, I was expecting something a little bigger and the drinks were a little pricy. The best part of our stay would be the breakfast buffet. Again, a little pricy but the food was fabulous, and a nice variety of frech fruit and various breakfast foods including hot oatmeal, Yum! Overall if you just need some couple time and want to getaway from it all than this is the place. I didn't see many young kids but I am sure it would do just fine for them too.
