Ramada Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruiseport

I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. We had to wait two hours to check in as the room was not ready; we wanted to check in at 2:00 p.m. and check in time is suppose to be 11:00 a.m. My elderly aunt and uncle were put on the second floor (no elevator), it was a great physical challenge for them to get to and from thier room, but the staff said they could not put them in a ground level room as there were none. The lobby, the coffee shop, and our rooms were dirty. We requested a room change as my husband had ants crawling on him. The ketsup bottles in the coffee shop were so greasy, they almost slid out of our hands. The floral arangements in the coffee shop and the lobby were white with dust. Our TV didn't work, no hot water.....

Yes, the pool was nice, the customer service was great. For an ecomomy price we were very happy. Nice breakfast included.

Vending machines were all empty. Nothing surrounding hotel that you could walk to but had free shuttle to ports. Pool bar was closed. It was O.k. if you're just going there to sleep.

The area surrounding hotel is sad. Property next door looked abandoned. If you have a rental car, this hotel is convenient to many attractions. We would not walk ( nor is anything close) outside the hotel immediate area. Very easy to find from either FLL or MIA airports. If you are staying one night pre or post cruise, this is a good value for your money. Shuttles from airport or hotel to pier were well organized, clean and efficient. Continental breakfast was very good with many choices and hot buffet items not found at most hotels. Reception area was modern and updated. Pool area was nice. We had read negative reviews prior to departure but for the difference in price of other hotels in the area, we found this to be a standard hotel with great amenities. We would return for a 1 night pre-cruise.

We would not recommend this hotel, even for a short stay. The first problem was the shuttle form the airport. It was necessary to squeeze past a number of seats to get to the back and there was very little room.
The facility and the rooms were average.
The restaurant was terrible, both for food and service.
The bus from the hotel to the cruise port was very good and the attitude of the front desk people was quite good.
If you need to use the bar, plan on a lengthy wait to be served. Only one person on duty and she kept disappearing to get food ordered at the bar.
