The dark and intimate reception area sets the tone, with black glass walls acting as a frame for a tank of Connemara-bred seahorses and a bespoke concierge wall, designed by Philip Treacy. Covered in white Venetian plaster and reminiscent of a seashell, it offers a hint of the surprises yet to come. The public areas on the ground floor extend to over 18, 000 m² with three individually styled and themed lounges and a restaurant, all linked by a raspberry carpeted corridor. The impression is of walking through a particularly glamorous dolls' house, with golden doorways framing the entrance to each room. The 101-room city hotel is air conditioned and welcomes guests into a lobby with a 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a cloakroom and lift access. By car: from Galway Airport - at the airport exit, turn left. Follow signs for 'Galway R339' for 3. 5 km. At the junction with the N6, at the Lynch roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the dual carriageway. At the Morris roundabout, take the 1st exit (signposted 'city centre'). On arrival at Skerritt Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Dublin Road. Proceed to the French Roundabout. On approach keep in the right hand lane (the hotel can be seen located on the right). Take the 4th exit - as though heading back out of the city (signposted Limerick/Dublin). The hotel is located immediately on the left just after Reid Furniture.
