**Members Only Hotel** is a 5 star hotel in Geneva. The [hidden] is one of Geneva's best hotels and enjoys a superb location opposite the Jardin Anglais, right on the lakeside. From here it's only two steps to the fashionable shopping boulevards and the charms of the tiny streets of the old town and the Cathedral. A luxurious and elegant hotel, the Metropole was built in 1854 but has more recently been renovated and modernized, offering guests every possible comfort and convenience, as you'd expect in a top quality 5 star hotel.

Guest rooms are spacious and elegant, with classic decor and sparkling en suite bathrooms. Rooms on the city side are slightly smaller, but face the quieter rue du Rhone. Lakeside rooms are more spacious and have a separate bath and shower in their large bathrooms, also featuring a second television in here, for the ultimate in pampered luxury!

The hotel doesn't promise a lake view, as rooms below the 3rd floor have their view compromised by the trees, but the aspect is nonetheless a pretty one. All rooms are double glazed and have airconditioning, bathrobes and slippers, a safe, iron & ironing board, cd and dvd player, 2 phones with modem and wireless internet connectivity, desk, hairdryer and coffee/tea machine.

The [hidden] has its own elegant restaurant serving traditional French cuisine. The decor is timeless, with red leather chairs and chandeliers. There's also a terrace on the cobbles, where you can eat outside opposite the quaint fountain in the sunshine. You may opt to take the hotel's breakfast buffet here, at an extra cost of CHF35 per person. From May, the hotel will also feature a contemporary styled sandwich bar downstairs.

The hotel bar is a comfortable place to relax, just off the main lobby. Upstairs, there is a panoramic terrace where you can take your drinks and relax with a fantastic 360° view over Geneva, the Lake and the mountains beyond. The [hidden] also offers fitness facilities in its Amrita Spa, a fully equipped exercise room with freeweights and training machines.

Coffee machine in room nice touch,bar nice,staff helpful,good location near old town ,rooms at the back slightly small but adequate ,would stay there again

As it was my husbands big 40 birthday, I specifically requested a room with a view of the lake - not guaranteed. However, on being escorted to the room, they had gone one better a fantastic view of the lake, champagne on ice, fruit platter and even a birthday card.
The hotel is ideally situated for the main shopping area, old town and some very nice bistros. The road outside the hotel is a very busy road throughout the night, so if staying on the front don't leave the window open as it can get quite noisy. Fine with the window shut, though. Room good, the Lavazza coffee machine is a nice touch. Bit tricky picking the correct cup size though and don't forget to locate the stop button first if you turn the hot water on! On the whole great - pricey but worth it.

staff were fine, hotel ok if not a little expensive but there again alll of Switzerland is expensive or at least in Geneva,

Rooms were cleaned daily. The restaurant seemed without any soul. There did not seem to be anyone dining there and we didnt either.

Staff were extremely helpful and very kind.

Thought the hotel was excellent and best location and value for money of all the 5 star hotels. We were hesitant as this was the only hotel on the lake in the Old Town however it transpired this was the better location by far. Stayed in City side rooms, marginally smaller than lakeside but very smart in any event and the staff were very attentive. Only comment re hotel was the restaurant was just ok in terms of quality for price, but you can't have it all. All in all good choice and Geneva well worth going to.
