The Hotel was right next to the mall which was nice for shopping and a few dining options. The hotel was not near the city center and does require bus travel to main area, but this was free based upon bus pass provided by hotel.
If you arrive by Train, take the D bus which is on the left of the train station. Exit at the Stadium or La Praille shopping center.
The only thing lacking was an affordable vending machine for a simple bottled water or snack.
Otherwise, the hotel was clean and fairly priced.

We stayed at the Ramada Encore Geneva for 3 nights in September. We unknowingly booked the hotel the same night that Sting's concert (The Police reunion) was playing at the Stadium next door. What luck! We had a great view of the concert from the hotel's 5th floor window! Our room and bathroom were very clean and modern. The hotel is also connected to a shopping centre (La Praille) which has everything from fashion to restaurants, grocery store and even a bowling centre. Although this hotel is not walking distance to the lake district, you can get a free transportation pass for the duration of your stay which can be used for the bus, tram or train. This was very helpful in getting around. The D bus stops in front of the hotel and will take you to Gare Cornavin which is the main train station downtown. From there you can take the #10 bus to the airport. We had an early morning flight back, so we couldn't take advantage of this and took a taxi instead which cost 47 francs. Our hotel rate included the buffet breakfast which was a good assortment of pastries, cereal, bread, eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruits and cold cuts. Again we must have luck on our side because one morning while having breakfast, my husband didn't realize he dropped his wallet on the floor and a waiter pointed it out to him. Very honest! Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

We liked the hotel a lot - especially the breakfast. Sataff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Slightly disappointed that there was no bath in the bathroom. However, overall, a very good hotel that we would recommend to others.
