Saratoga

Review by: Ross , Phoenix, United States

Stayed: Apr 2013

Very high priced for a hotel in Havana. If you can afford it, go for it. I don't think there is anything nicer.

The area surrounding the hotel is in the heart of the city so be prepared for some hustlers and begging outside the hotel.
With that said the room are amazing some have great views other don't, but don't let that put you off. Just go outside for any amazing photography opportunities.

The bathrooms and beds a very clean. Rooms felt very safe to store your belonging in. Our friends left out their laptops and they where fine. Also free wifi in the room! (no fast but a connection for your email)

Walking distance to a lot of great spots.

First Class

Review by: Ryan , Vancouver, Canada

Stayed: Mar 2013

This place is very nice. Most times you hear "5 star" in Cuba it means 3 star by North American standards, but this place was 5 star by any standards. I felt a little bad staying somewhere so opulent once I explored the surroundings but we wanted to do something special as we only had a short stay in Havana. It is expensive, especially for Cuba, but met our expectations (average value for $$). We were there in high season and paid about $300/night. Not quite what you'd get for the same price in Toronto or Vancouver, but close. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the bar on the mezzanine was a great place to unwind after a day of exploring and prices were reasonable. Walking distance to anything in Old Havana.

A very good hotel overall, excelent location for exploring Havana

Review by: Peter & Glenda , Hereford, United Kingdom

Stayed: Oct 2012

The hotel was very good, in the best loacation possible for exploring Havana, Great to just walk out of the door, and wander.
The food in the hotel however was really poor.
The best value in Havana is the Havana open top bus, at USD 5 it provides a great view of the city.

Good central clean hotel

Review by: Onge , London, United Kingdom

Stayed: May 2012

Positives:
V Nice bathrooms
Nice rooms (ask for one with a full window)
More character than the Parque Central (where we stayed for the first part of our trip)
Lots of toiletries in the bathroom
Comfy bed
Clean and modernised throughout
Clean pool and pool area on roof top

Negatives:
Some reception staff lovely, others unsmiling and unfriendly
Pool area a bit clinical, could do with some plants

I would recommend this hotel, as long as you get a room with a proper window (we asked for this and got it). Didn't try the food so can't comment on this
